1)The Poetry and Prose both contains the same elements but,the major difference is the OBJECT..

Prose has a simple and regular way of writing style. It has certain artificial arrangement of words, metre, rhymes, ornamental words etc.
But the aim of Poetry is to give the first please that delight and knowledge.
So, we find clear difference in both literary forms.
prose.

2) Difference between Poem and Poetry

Literary works are created for the purpose of providing people with information, entertainment and inspiration. They have been around for as long as the ancient times.

A Poem can either be rhyming or n- rhyming. It uses symbols and has lines and stanzas that have sentences, fragmentes of sentences or both. It uses Metaphor and alliteration, especially in poems for children.

Poetry is defined as a literary form of act, evoked in language. It can be written on its own or in combination with other arts as in poetic drama, poetic hymns, lyrical poetry and prose poetry...

"Poetry is the process of creating a literary piece using metaphor, symbols and ambiguity, while a poem is the end result of this process..

3) Example of a Poetry Verse

Read this from “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” written by Robert Frost.

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.”

Prose Form

“The woods look lovely against thesetting darkness and as I gaze into the mysterious depths of the forest, I feel like lingering here longer.  However, I have pending appointments to keep and much distance to cover before I settle in for the night or else I will be late for all of them.”

The above paragraph is conveying a similar message but it is conveyed in ordinary language, without a formal metrical structure to bind it.
